Warehouse Manager / Operations Manager Position Summary The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all inbound warehouse operations, ensuring that all incoming shipments are received, inspected, documented, and stored accurately and efficiently. This position leads the receiving team, maintains inventory accuracy, enforces safety procedures, and works closely with Inventory Control, Customer Service, and Operations to ensure exceptional service for our clients. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, experienced in warehouse receiving operations, and capable of leading a fast-paced team while maintaining productivity, accuracy, and compliance with company standards. Key Responsibilities Receiving Operations Supervise all daily inbound receiving activities. Ensure all inbound shipments are unloaded safely and efficiently. Verify shipment quantities against packing lists, purchase orders, ASNs, and receiving documentation. Inspect incoming products for damages, shortages, overages, and quality issues. Ensure all discrepancies are properly documented and reported immediately. Coordinate dock schedules with carriers and transportation providers. Prioritize inbound loads according to operational needs. Ensure all received inventory is properly labeled and transferred to the correct warehouse locations. Monitor receiving turnaround times and productivity. Team Leadership Supervise, coach, and support Receiving Associates. Lead a team of up to 5 associates. Assign daily workloads and monitor employee performance. Train new employees on receiving procedures and warehouse safety. Conduct regular performance evaluations. Maintain attendance records and approve timecards when required. Promote teamwork and accountability. Ensure staffing levels meet operational demands. Inventory Accuracy Maintain high inventory accuracy throughout the receiving process. Ensure all received inventory is entered accurately into the Warehouse Management System (WMS). Coordinate with Inventory Control to investigate discrepancies. Participate in cycle counts and inventory audits. Ensure proper product identification and labeling. Documentation & Systems Accurately process receiving documentation. Update receiving records within the Warehouse Management System. Maintain organized electronic and physical receiving files. Ensure compliance with customer-specific receiving requirements. Generate receiving reports as required. Warehouse Coordination Collaborate with Inventory, Shipping, Customer Service, and Operations teams. Communicate receiving priorities and operational issues. Coordinate urgent inbound shipments. Assist with special projects including client onboarding, inventory transfers, repacking, and warehouse reorganizations. Safety & Compliance Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Ensure proper use of forklifts, pallet jacks, dock equipment, and PPE. Conduct daily safety observations. Report accidents and near misses immediately. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area following 5S principles. Process Improvement Identify opportunities to improve receiving efficiency. Recommend workflow improvements. Monitor KPIs and productivity metrics. Assist management with implementing operational improvements. Required Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum 3 years of warehouse receiving experience. Minimum 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Experience in a 3PL, fulfillment, distribution center, or logistics environment preferred. Strong knowledge of warehouse receiving procedures. Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Outlook, Word). Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain certification). Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, bend, walk, and work in a warehouse environment for extended periods.
