Full Time Dockmaster/Shuttle Captain Position:
Full Time / Hourly Reports to: Director of Marine Services The PIYC Dockmaster provides assistance to Members and transients in the Marina and performs a range of customer service duties in a safe, courteous, efficient and professional manner. As the first line of Member contact in the Marina, the Dockmaster will be responsible for operations associated with boating Members and assist the Director of Marine Services as needed. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists in securing boats to docks and ensuring safety of others in the Marina
  • Ensures daily tasks are completed
  • Perform administrative duties as needed
  • Trains Marina Attendants
  • Demonstrates safe work habits, include the proper care and use of tools, equipment, vehicles, hazardous material and observes all established health and safety regulations
  • Provides assistance to Members, vendors, officials and staff
  • Inspects and ensures above average appearance of Marina facility
  • Operates exclusive Member and guest Beach Shuttle service on the Club-owned 32 passenger catamaran to Delnor-Wiggins State Park and Barefoot Beach Preserve
  • Communicates with Members, prospective Members, guests in a professional manner at all times
  • Helps resolve Member disputes in a manner consistent with PIYC standards and policy. Refers all disputes outside of scope of abilities to Director of Marine Services.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as assigned
  • Takes the supervisory role in the absence of the Director of Marine Services Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of general boat handling, mooring and docking practices applicable to the operation and use of Marina facilities
  • General knowledge of electric, plumbing and pier repair
  • Ability to swim
  • Must have the ability to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Be able to communicate effectively with staff and the public in a professional manner
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Available to work varied hours/days, including weekends and holidays as required Our New Team Member will Possess the

§ USCG 25-ton license preferred § Polished and professional in appearance and demeanor § Able to provide analysis and apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills § Self-starter, well organized, detail oriented, flexible § Innovative and solution minded approach to meeting daily challenges § Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as polished phone and email etiquette § Enjoys working with a team and has strong interpersonal skills § Willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to an evolving organization The Position and How to Apply Compensation is competitive and commensurate with qualification and experience.
