The Shipping & Receiving Lead is responsible for supervising and coordinating all shipping and receiving activities within the FAA-regulated aviation environment. Ensure for accurate receipt, inspection, storage, and shipment of materials, engines, and components, while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Team Lead provides leadership to the materials team, monitors workflows, and communicates effectively with logistics and production teams to achieve operational goals. This role ensures alignment withFAA/EASA
regulatory requirements while driving operational efficiency, financial performance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position partners closely with the logistics crew lead, Director of Technical Operations, Shared Services Manager and the Planning Department team to ensure timely material flow, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise shipping & receiving team members to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Provide proper training and mentoring to team members to promote skill development and operational consistency.
- Assign tasks based on priority and monitor progress to meet deadlines.
- Ensure accurate documentation and traceability for all incoming and outgoing materials.
- Oversee proper packaging, labeling, and compliance with FAA and company standards.
- Coordinate with logistics and production teams to prioritize material flow and meet operational deadlines.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely when necessary.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and update systems to reflect material movements.
- Identify and resolve workflow issues, escalating critical concerns promptly.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Report any discrepancies, hazards, or issues to the supervisor promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- Able to pass drug test/background check
- we are a drug free workplace.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations; aviation experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely (certification required).
- At least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficient in inventory management systems and Microsoft office.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
- Combination of office and production floor environments.
- Bending at the waist, sitting, kneeling, climbing, walking, etc., as job may require.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies.
- May require occasional extended hours, weekend support, or travel to support operational needs, audits, or customer requirements.
