Job Description

Job Summary:
Assist in leading the daily operations of the Shipping Department to ensure accurate, efficient, and on-time shipment of products. Coordinate daily work activities, support team members, and communicate operational needs to the Shipping Manager to maintain effective workflow and meet customer delivery requirements.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Assist with leading the daily work of the Shipping Department under the direction of the Shipping Manager. Manage the day shift team members in terms of attendance, clock in/out time, and shipping operational activities
Duties/Responsibilities:
Coordinate daily shipping activities to ensure products are prepared accurately and shipped according to customer requirements and scheduled delivery times. Monitor daily trailer loading, pallet configuration, and shipment staging to ensure efficient use of space and accurate product loading. Assist with final inspection of outgoing shipments to verify product, quantity, packaging, labeling, and shipping documentation. Monitor the shipping area to ensure proper workflow, organization, housekeeping, and adherence to established procedures. Assist in identifying operational issues and recommend process improvements to the Shipping Manager to improve efficiency and reduce delays. Help ensure compliance with established shipping procedures, customer requirements, safety policies, and company standards. Facilitate effective communication between team members and management to ensure operational issues are promptly identified and addressed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of stock movement, reconciliation, and warehouse flow. Familiarity with inventory tracking systems, shipping documentation, and warehouse procedures. Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems. Ability to provide clear verbal and written communication. Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and coordinate daily work activities. Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization. Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience At least 1-year experience in a warehouse setting
Physical Requirements:
Will work in a warehouse where work is dusty, dirty, and noisy. Will be required to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Will be required to perform and evaluate team's performance. May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds
