Location:
Harlan, IA Direct Hire, On-site Job Description The Shipping Area Supervisor leads and coordinates shipping, receiving, warehousing, and material flow activities to support safe, efficient, and on-time customer deliveries. This role provides leadership, coaching, and development for Shipping and Receiving employees while promoting teamwork, accountability, safety, and customer satisfaction. The supervisor will also support Lean Manufacturing initiatives, continuous improvement, 5S, and cross-functional operational goals.
Responsibilities:
Lead, develop, coach, and manage employees involved in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, and material movement. Coordinate outbound shipments, transportation, and material flow to meet customer delivery requirements. Monitor key performance metrics including On-Time Shipment, On-Time Delivery, inventory accuracy, and shipping accuracy. Lead Lean Manufacturing, LDMS, Kata, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure safe operations, accurate inventory movement, shipping documentation, and compliance with EHS and export requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements:
3+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or material management. Previous team leadership or management experience required. Associate degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Microsoft Office proficiency and ability to obtain and maintain forklift and overhead crane certifications.
