Job Description

The Michael Lewis Company team is currently seeking two qualified candidates to join our operations team as Dock Coordinators. We are hiring for both 1st shift (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM) and 2nd shift (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM) positions. This role plays an important part in supporting daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient coordination of dock activities, and maintaining safe and organized loading and unloading processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures that all dock activity is organized, accurate, and secure. Ensures that dock activity is limited to the planned and scheduled inbounds/outbounds. Oversees and evaluates all activities of the dock and dock employees, ensuring safe and efficient loading and unloading of all freight including daily workflow, schedules, and movement of product on and off the dock areas Evaluates and ensures the quality of stacked pallets loading onto trailers. Oversees locking and unlocking of dock doors as needed for inbounds/outbounds. Monitors freight movement using various computer software applications. Assesses efficiency and performance of dispatch and distribution activities; identifies and recommends improvements to shift, department, and facility. Communicates with Shipping Manager on a regular basis Exhibits professional behavior at all times collaborating as a member of the larger operations team. Demonstrates and follows all food safety/HAACP, and dangerous good rules associated with dock activity. Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse Ability to work flexible hours to support the operation Performs other duties as assigned
Work Experience Requirements:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills Computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel, and Outlook) Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routine, and standard accepted practices. Education and/or
Work Experience Preferred:
2+ years in Operations or Supply Chain Minimum of an associate degree General understanding of WMS and RF equipment Ability to utilize equipment- forklift certified a plus Knowledge of food safety/ HAACP and dangerous goods favorable Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Physical Requirements:
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone and by computer Must be able to stand and walk for most or entirety of shift. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work in hot and cold climates and in an environment with many noises
