Posted Date August 5, 2026 Closing Date Open Until Filled Software Solutions Department is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Warehouse Lead to oversee the design, development, and maintenance of Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) data warehouse. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture, data modeling, and ETL processes, along with excellent leadership and project management skills. This position functions under general supervision and reports to a Supervisor. Duties and Responsibilities Oversees the end-to-end development and implementation of data warehouse projects, ensuring they meet business requirements and are delivered on time. Designs and implements data architecture and data models that support efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis. Analyzes current data warehouse architecture and makes recommendations on cloud migration that ensures efficient data management. Develops, optimizes, and maintains ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure data is accurately and efficiently loaded into the data warehouse. Establishes and enforces data quality standards and governance policies to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and security of data. Leads and mentors a team of data analysts, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals. Works closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and other departments to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs. Maintains comprehensive documentation of data warehouse architecture, processes, and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other IT related field with at least five years of experience, or, an Associate's degree in one of these fields with at least five years of experience performing development and application analysis work. OF TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION
) Minimum of five years of experience in data warehousing, data architecture, and ETL processes. Proven experience in leading a team of data professionals. Proficiency in Microsoft SQL server, data modeling tools, ETL tools and data warehousing technologies. Strong understanding of database concepts and data modeling. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical understanding of ISBE application framework to troubleshoot and support user interfaces (e.g. Data Quality Dashboard, Illinois Report Card, My Data Dashboard, Dataverse). Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of cloud-based data migration and implementation.
