Job Description:

As a Warehouse Lead at Premier Transportation, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse and dock processes. Your primary responsibility will be to supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse associates across key functions including pallet building, sorting, pallet pulls, tagging, and loading/unloading, ensuring freight is handled accurately and safely to meet daily shipment schedules and retail customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of warehouse associates engaged in building pallets, sorting freight, performing pallet pulls, tagging/labeling, and loading and unloading trucks carrying retail freight. Oversee pallet building operations to ensure freight is stacked, wrapped, and configured correctly and safely for transport and retail delivery requirements. Coordinate sorting operations to ensure freight is properly organized, staged, and routed according to destination and customer requirements. Manage pallet pull processes, ensuring accurate and timely retrieval and staging of product to support outbound shipments. Ensure accurate tagging and labeling of freight and pallets in compliance with company standards and retail customer specifications. Ensure shipments are processed accurately and efficiently according to company standards and customer requirements. Train, mentor, and provide feedback to warehouse associates to enhance their performance and productivity. Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper storage and handling of freight to prevent damage or loss. Enforce safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all employees. Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, and management to resolve issues and improve operations. Perform administrative tasks such as documenting shipments, maintaining records, and reporting any discrepancies.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years' experience in a warehouse, logistics, or shipping/receiving environment, including hands-on experience with pallet building, sorting, and freight handling. At least 1 year of supervisory or team leadership experience, demonstrating the ability to lead and motivate a team. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly with sorting, tagging, and freight accuracy. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office suite, warehouse management systems).

On-the-Job Training:

Qualified applicants can expect 1 week of on-the-job training performing warehouse and cross-dock operations, including pallet building, sorting, pallet pulls, and tagging procedures.
