Job Description
Governors State University seeks to hire extra-help stage hands to perform all work involved in the installation and operation of stage shows, special events, and public functions at The Center for Performing Arts, and elsewhere at Governors State University, where Broadway tours, concerts, plays, television broadcasts, dance, high profile media and community-based events, banquets, lectures, and other entertainment for audiences up to 1200 people are performed on an almost daily basis. The Assembly Hall Stagehand is responsible for maintaining client relationships, stage direction, show lighting, sound, video and rigging, facility repairs, and fire and public safety. This employee works under direct supervision from a designated supervisor. Extra-help Stagehands assist with technical event production, stage management, venue maintenance, safety compliance, and other duties as assigned.
