Job Summary Responsible for safe and reliable operation, dispatching, and restoration of facilities for a portion of the AEP distribution system. The position entails supervising a group of dispatchers who are on a rotating shift schedule, assisting in the coordination of facility outages, supervising the development of switching instructions, implementing normal and emergency procedures, supervising the proper restoration of distribution facilities, and ensuring appropriate training for dispatchers Job Description What you'll do: Supervise a group of dispatchers on a rotating shift schedule in support of Distribution Operations goals. Provide a safe and reliable operation, dispatching, and restoration of facilities for a portion of AEP's distribution system. Coordinate facility outages optimizing diverse input (involving internal and external entities), necessary Outage Management Systems for restoration efforts and ensuring safe and reliable operation. Supervise the development and implementation of switching instructions. Implement normal and emergency procedures to ensure safe and reliable operation of a portion of AEP's distribution system. Supervise the proper surveillance of a portion of the AEP distribution system and proper assistance in maintenance of voltages, loadings and security of the system, involving ability to analyze system conditions. Train and coach dispatchers. What we're looking for:
Education:
Two-year technical degree in electrical/electronic technology or related technical discipline with 3 years of distribution operations experience OR equivalent experience as indicated in experience below in Experience fieldExperience:
Minimum of 7 years of distribution dispatching experience with a thorough knowledge of distribution systems and equipment and proper switching and tagging procedures.In addition:
Physical demand level is Sedentary Thorough knowledge of distribution systems and equipment, and proper switching and tagging procedures. Acceptable written and verbal communications skills.
