Position Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Lead Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily shipping and receiving operations while ensuring the accurate movement of materials, parts, and finished goods into and out of the facility. This position provides leadership and direction to shipping and receiving activities, maintains inventory accuracy, coordinates carrier shipments, ensures proper documentation, and supports production requirements. The Lead Shipping & Receiving Coordinator maintains safety and quality standards, promotes continuous improvement, and assists in training team members to support the achievement of Masterbilt's business goals and objectives Essential Functions. Load and unload trucks without damaging materials. Coordinate and prioritize daily shipping and receiving activities. Lead and support Shipping & Receiving team members to ensure efficient workflow. Verify incoming shipments against packing slips, purchase orders, and receiving documentation. Prepare and process shipping documentation, labels, bills of lading, and carrier paperwork. Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently. Consolidate shipping orders and ensure on-time deliveries to customers. Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments. Utilize scanning systems and computer software to track inventory and shipment activity. Coordinate freight pickups and deliveries with carriers and vendors. Conduct routine inventory checks and investigate discrepancies. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely. Train and assist employees on shipping, receiving, inventory, and documentation procedures. Ensure compliance with company quality standards, customer requirements, and safety regulations. Perform daily inspections of material handling equipment. Support production departments by ensuring materials are delivered when needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping and receiving area. Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Competency Requirements:
Experience & Education High school diploma or GED preferred. Three or more years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience preferred. Previous leadership, lead, or supervisory experience preferred. Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain certification. Manufacturing environment experience preferred. Proficiency with shipping systems, inventory transactions, and basic computer applications. Experience working with ERP systems and shipping software is preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required. Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain certification. Additional Attributes Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Dependable with excellent attendance. Commitment to safety and continuous improvement. Compliance Ability to comply with and pass all required background check and drug screening requirements, including but not limited to pre-employment and random drug screening as required/requested. Must maintain a valid driver's license and remain insurable under the company's vehicle insurance policy Physical Activities & Working Conditions The physical demands and working conditions described here are representative, but not exhaustive, of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Frequently lift-up to 50 pounds. Stand and walk for extended periods. Bend, kneel, climb ladders, and reach overhead. Work in manufacturing and warehouse environments. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Manufacturing facility with exposure to moving equipment, noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required as appropriate.
Work Schedule:
The typical schedule for this position is Monday-Friday from 6:30 A.M. - 4:00 P.M. with hours based on a production environment, with occasional nights and weekends, depending on the needs of the position and the organization.
