Assistant Facility Manager Position Summary:

Shipping & Receiving Supervisor will lead daily warehouse operations and supervise shipping and receiving activities. This position is responsible for inventory accuracy, employee leadership, transportation coordination, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, and committed to operational excellence. Primary Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily shipping and receiving operations Lead, train, and mentor shipping/receiving team members Ensure accuracy and condition of inbound and outbound shipments Prepare shipping documents including bills of lading, freight paperwork, and invoices Coordinate carriers, determine shipping routes, and secure shipping rates Maintain accurate inventory records and enforce FIFO inventory practices Enforce safety procedures and promote a strong safety culture Communicate shipment issues, shortages, or delays to management and customer service Develop and improve warehouse procedures and workflows Conduct employee performance evaluations and goal setting Perform general office and clerical duties as needed Kansas City-Specific Responsibilities Transport hazardous waste within the facility Assist with hazardous waste spill response and cleanup Manage hazardous waste shipments to approved disposal facilities Complete and sign hazardous waste shipping documentation when authorized Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience At least 2 years of shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations related to shipping Experience with freight coordination and logistics Proficient in Microsoft Office and warehouse/ERP systems (SAP preferred) Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to become forklift certified Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and material handling Ability to lift 40-50 lbs. with assistance Occasional climbing, bending, kneeling, and forklift operation Warehouse/manufacturing environment Why Join Us?
