This is a hands-on, working lead position that requires someone who is comfortable jumping into daily warehouse duties, operating equipment, and setting the pace for the team. The Warehouse Lead will assist with directing warehouse associates, coordinating workflow, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring safety and productivity standards are met. Prior reach truck experience is required , as this position will regularly operate a reach truck and other material handling equipment as part of the day-to-day workload. Responsibilities Serve as a working lead , actively performing warehouse duties alongside team members while helping coordinate and direct third-shift operations. Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and support to warehouse associates to maintain productivity, accuracy, and safety. Regularly operate a reach truck to move, retrieve, stage, and put away materials throughout the warehouse. Operate additional material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and RF scanners as needed. Assist with shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, inventory management, and general material handling. Help prioritize daily workloads and ensure orders and warehouse tasks are completed accurately and on schedule. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory systems such as AS400 to track inventory, process orders, and maintain accurate records. Conduct cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliation to maintain inventory accuracy. Monitor warehouse safety practices and ensure team members follow OSHA requirements and company safety procedures. Identify opportunities to improve workflow, productivity, organization, and overall warehouse efficiency. Coordinate with management and logistics teams regarding shipping schedules, inventory needs, workflow issues, and other operational priorities. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Step in wherever needed to support the team and ensure third-shift production goals are met. Requirements Previous warehouse or distribution center experience required. Prior reach truck experience is required. Candidates must be comfortable operating a reach truck regularly throughout the shift. Previous experience as a Warehouse Lead, Team Lead, Lead Material Handler, or similar leadership role strongly preferred. Must be comfortable in a hands-on leadership role and willing to work alongside the team rather than solely supervise. Forklift and material handling equipment experience required. Experience with shipping, receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, and materials handling. Familiarity with WMS/inventory management systems; AS400 experience is a plus. Experience using RF scanners and other warehouse technology. Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and OSHA standards. Ability to provide clear direction, hold team members accountable, and maintain a positive and productive work environment. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to perform physical warehouse duties, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
