Job Description

Company Overview We are a Heavy Civil and Wet Utility General Contractor serving municipal clients across Maryland, the District of Columbia, Northern Virginia, and Delaware. Our work includes water, sewer, storm drain, concrete flatwork, and related civil construction for public agencies. Position Overview Fleet, Equipment & Compliance Coordinator needed to cover afternoon and evening dispatch while owning Equipment360 records, fleet and equipment files, inventory controls, utilization tracking, and transportation compliance. This seat keeps Superintendents, Foremen, drivers, and the shop moving after the day-shift office thins out—and keeps the asset and DOT files audit-ready the next morning. Reports to the Equipment / Fleet Manager (or VP of Operations if that seat is vacant). Partners daily with Superintendents, the shop, CDL drivers, Safety, and Project Managers. Key Responsibilities Provide afternoon / evening dispatch coverage for equipment, trucks, attachments, and drivers across active municipal jobs. Take field calls and radios after day-shift handoff; stage next-day moves; coordinate breakdowns, rentals, and after-hours transfers. Own Equipment360 data quality: asset records, meters / hours, PM schedules, work orders, issues from the field, and close-out. Maintain fleet and equipment files (titles, registrations, insurance cards, inspections, warranties, rental agreements). Control inventory of attachments, trench boxes, pumps, traffic-control devices, and assigned parts / consumables. Track utilization and location so idle iron and missing attachments are visible and acted on.
Support transportation compliance:
CDL / DQ-file dates, medical cards, DVIRs, annual inspections, permits, IRP / IFTA inputs as assigned. Flag grounded or unsafe units; do not release equipment that Safety or the shop has tagged out. Keep a clean written handoff for the morning dispatcher / Fleet Manager. Required Qualifications 2+ years dispatch, fleet, equipment coordination, shop admin, or transportation-compliance work. Heavy civil or utility construction preferred. Working knowledge of construction equipment types (excavators, loaders, trucks, compactors, trench boxes, pumps) and why a Superintendent asks for a specific unit. Comfort with fleet / CMMS software (Equipment360 / HCSS strongly preferred) and Microsoft Excel. Awareness of
CMV / DOT
basics: CDL classes, medical cards, pre-trip / DVIR, weight and permit limits. Clear radio and phone presence under pressure; accurate logs; eligible to work in the U.S.; able to pass a background check and drug screen. Valid driver's license. Able to work a consistent afternoon / evening shift, including seasonal overtime and occasional weekends. Preferred Qualifications Direct Equipment360, HeavyJob, Verizon Connect, or comparable telematics experience. Prior CDL, shop parts, rental-desk, or DQ-file administration experience. Oversize / overweight permitting in
MD / DC / VA / DE.
Bilingual English / Spanish. EEO Statement We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
