Job Description
Position Summary The Distribution Center Supervisor in our Rogers, MN facility is responsible for ensuring safe, timely, cost-effective receiving, and shipping of finished goods. In this role you will ensure high levels of customer service and satisfaction by coordinating supply chain activities with the Manufacturing, Planning, and Sourcing groups. In addition, the Distribution Center Supervisor will maintain appropriate and accurate record keeping and data management systems and is an effective liaison with transportation providers and internal and external customers. This position requires working onsite in our Rogers, MN Distribution Center location Monday through Friday 9am to 5:30pm, with occasional weekend hours based on business needs. What You'll do as a Distribution Center Supervisor Responsible for proper operation of equipment, including the training and instruction of operators on equipment use, and the requisitioning of needed equipment maintenance. Ensure equipment is maintained in a clean working order. Establish, maintain, and promote positive employee relations, while maintaining productivity, attendance, and general order required for an efficient operation. Ensure daily cycle counts are taken and provide Distribution Manager with monthly reports on outcome. Work with cross-functional groups to ensure traffic between warehouse points and to customers is coordinated and managed optimally. In conjunction with STERIS Planning, ensure efficient traffic management feedback to Director regarding performance of carriers. Responsible for receipt of finished goods and shipments to domestic customers and distributors. Coordinate activities and provide direction to employees in charge of daily operations. Develop and/or maintain the required material handling procedures and work instructions for the department. Ensure required daily production requirements are aligned with Customer requirements. Maintain and supervise appropriate inventory record keeping. Provide input for warehouse design and logistics. Maintain a safe working environment by instructing employees on established safety practices and enforcing practices at all times. Ensure that emergency equipment, electrical panels, and exits are regularly monitored and free from obstructions. Coordinate and lead special projects affecting domestic warehouse operations. Maintain 5S/SQDIP boards and implement Lean initiatives to improve productivity.
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed Required:
Bachelor's Degree in related field, and a minimum of 3+ years' warehouse experience. In lieu of a degree, a High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 5+ years' warehouse experience. Minimum of 3+ years related supervisory or leadership experience in warehousing, domestic transportation and shipping/receiving. Strong working knowledge of ERP/WMS systems.Must have the ability to:
Become Hazmat and Hazardous Waste Certified. Work scheduled hours and support the team's overtime.Preferred:
Forklift certification and/or Train the Trainer certification. Hands-on experience with Oracle or other ERP systems. Hazmat and Hazardous Waste Certified. Previous experience working in a 5S environment and/or leading safety initiatives. Experience in an FDA controlled facility and/or chemical manufacturing/shipping.Other:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time .
