DSD/RSR Operations Pay:
$65,000- 70,000 per year Kitchen Fresh Foods (KFF) is a USDA-approved manufacturer and distributor of Ready-to-Eat (RTE) prepackaged foods.
Our Fresh Food Direct Store Delivery (DSD) operation delivers and services KFF products directly at customer locations through Route Sales Representatives. KFF is looking for an experienced route delivery, merchandising, or DSD/RSR professional who is ready to take the next step into leadership. This is a hands-on field leadership position. You will spend significant time working with Route Sales Representatives, visiting customers, riding routes, coaching employees, and helping ensure routes are properly staffed and operating successfully. When needed, you'll also step into the field and perform the same work as the employees you supervise—including driving, delivering, merchandising, stocking product, and servicing customers. What You'll Do Lead the Team Coach, train, and support Route Sales Representatives. Provide feedback and address performance or operational issues. Help new RSRs learn KFF's route, customer, merchandising, and service expectations. Help identify staffing needs and coordinate route coverage. Work in the Field Ride routes with RSRs and conduct field observations. Visit customer locations and inspect route execution and product presentation. Provide route coverage for vacations, call-ins, open positions, and other staffing needs. Perform normal RSR duties when covering a route, including driving, delivery, merchandising, stocking, and customer service. Support Customers Maintain positive relationships with customer contacts. Resolve service issues and communicate customer concerns. Ensure KFF products are properly delivered, stocked, rotated, and presented. Manage Route Operations Monitor route performance, product availability, inventory, and waste. Help identify opportunities to improve route efficiency and customer service. Coordinate vehicle, equipment, and route issues with the appropriate KFF departments. Assist with new product launches and changes to existing routes. Maintain Standards Ensure employees follow KFF policies and procedures. Monitor food quality, product temperatures, shelf conditions, and merchandising standards. Reinforce safe work practices and applicable transportation and regulatory requirements. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in a route-based environment, such as: Route Sales Representative Delivery Driver Merchandiser DSD Driver Foodservice Distributor Grocery Distributor Field Service Representative Similar route delivery or merchandising position Previous supervisory experience is helpful, but it is not required. We are interested in experienced route professionals who demonstrate the ability and desire to lead others. We're looking for someone who: Understands route delivery and merchandising operations Has strong customer service skills Can coach and hold employees accountable Is comfortable working independently in the field Can communicate effectively with employees, customers, and KFF support teams Is organized and able to solve problems quickly Is comfortable using basic computer and mobile technology Can perform the physical and driving requirements of an RSR when route coverage is needed Has a valid Class D driver's license and reasonably clean driving record Can obtain and maintain a DOT Federal Medical Certificate Is willing to travel throughout the assigned territory, including occasional overnight travel Schedule Monday-Friday, with occasional weekend and overnight travel as business needs require. Physical & Field Requirements This is an active, field-based position requiring frequent driving, walking, standing, entering and exiting delivery vehicles, accessing product and displays, and handling product and equipment as required.
