Founded in 1997, the company has spent more than 25 years helping businesses and organizations throughout the Triangle area with reliable recycling, document shredding, and sustainability services. Shimar Recycling is committed to providing excellent customer service while helping create a cleaner and more environmentally responsible community. Shimar Recycling is seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Driver / Route Leader to provide recycling collection and onsite shredding services for commercial customers. This position involves operating 24' and 26' box trucks, shredding trucks, and rear-loader trucks. Many collection stops occur inside office buildings and may involve multiple collection points throughout each facility. At the completion of each route, drivers are responsible for processing collected materials, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and accurately completing all required paperwork. Responsibilities 1. Possess a valid Class B CDL with no more than three (3) points on driving record 2. Must be able to operate a manual transmission 3. Must be at least 21 years of age 4. High school diploma or GED equivalent required 5. Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating similar commercial vehicles 6. Maintain a safe driving history and comply with all DOT regulations 7. Successfully pass pre-employment, post-accident, and random drug screenings 8. Maintain a clean criminal background (no felonies or theft-related misdemeanors) 9. Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills 10. Learn and maintain detailed route knowledge, including customer locations, container counts, and collection procedures 11. Educate customers and team members regarding recycling and secure shredding procedures when necessary 12. Ensure trucks are not overloaded beyond legal weight limits 13. Remain aware of truck height and clearance restrictions 14. Lift up to 75 lbs frequently and push/pull carts weighing up to 300 lbs consistently throughout the workday 15. Maintain clean vehicles and report any safety or maintenance concerns immediately 16. Work independently as well as in a team environment 17. Provide guidance and support to assistants or temporary staff when assigned 18. Follow all Shimar Recycling safety policies and operational procedures 19. Accurately complete route sheets, paperwork, and processing documentation daily 20. Adhere to all security procedures regarding confidential materials 21. Operate a sit-down forklift safely when required 22.
