We are a fully-integrated supplier of manufacturing and engineering services providing steel components and complex, high value-added assemblies for the agricultural, construction, mining, energy, heavy truck and industrial sectors. As the Material Supervisor, you will be responsible for the daily material handling functions for the facility by ensuring accurate material flow from the receiving dock to the warehouse storage location and to the production line feed location. You will also be responsible for support of all inventories, partial and full. The Material Supervisor will report to the Material Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development Coach Safety, Quality, and Productivity to ensure objectives are achieved through standardized work. Lead and supervise hourly personnel within the materials department. Build Team Leader and Team Member capability through coaching and development. Foster a positive and productive work environment that enables team success. Promote effective communication and employee recognition initiatives. Perform administrative supervisory duties including documentation and record maintenance. Material Flow & Operational Oversight Oversee daily material handling operations for the facility and department. Ensure accurate and efficient material flow from receiving dock to warehouse storage, production line feed, and customer shipment. Allocate resources appropriately to ensure material handling responsibilities are fully supported. Support shipping activities to meet customer delivery requirements. Manage returnable and expandable container programs. Maintain part inventories to support uninterrupted production activities. Inventory Control & Transaction Accuracy Develop, track, and report serial transaction errors and reconciliation objectives. Support inventory control initiatives including physical inventory, daily cycle counts, and investigation activities. Ensure accurate inventory records and timely transaction processing. Continuous Improvement & Lean Support Support synchronous material flow through Lean Manufacturing practices. Coach problem resolution to the lowest responsible level. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the department. Compliance & Policy Adherence Follow and ensure compliance with all Operational Procedures and company policies. Support Quality and Environmental programs (e.g., IATF, ISO 14001). Perform other duties as necessary in support of departmental goals. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Bachelor's degree in Industrial Operations, Transportation & Logistics, Supply Chain Management & Information Systems, Applied Engineering Science, Packaging Engineering, or Business Management is preferred. Manufacturing assembly and machining experience desired Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles Safety experience preferred Knowledge of constraint management principles Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership in a high paced environment.
