Group Lead- Shipping Hubbell Incorporated United States, North Carolina, Rocky Mount 546 English Road (Show on map) Aug 31, 2026 Job Overview The Shipping Lead is responsible for executing all daily shipping activities while ensuring customer orders are shipped accurately, on time, and in accordance with company priorities. This position serves as the primary coordinator between Shipping, Planning, Production, Customer Service, and Transportation to remove shipping constraints, manage priorities, and ensure accurate system transactions. The Shipping Lead owns the daily execution of the shipping process, provides leadership to shipping personnel, monitors shipment readiness, and proactively resolves issues that could impact customer delivery performance. 1st Shift Schedule- Overtime may be required A Day In The Life Every day at Hubbell is different and you'll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you'll make a difference by: Coordinate and prioritize daily shipments to meet customer requested ship dates and business priorities.

Oversee shipment execution, ensuring orders are loaded accurately, safely, and efficiently.

Monitor shipment progress throughout the day and resolve issues that could impact delivery commitments.

Manage shipping activities within SAP and TMS, including shipment creation, delivery validation, PGI processing, and error resolution.

Partner with Planning, Production, Customer Service, and Transportation teams to align shipping priorities and address changing customer needs.

Track shipment readiness by identifying and driving resolution of quality holds, assembly delays, documentation gaps, material shortages, customer holds, and transportation constraints.

Provide timely communication on shipment status, delivery risks, and expedited shipping requirements.

Monitor key performance metrics including on-time shipping, daily shipment goals, shipping accuracy, dock throughput, freight issues, and carrier performance.

Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance shipping processes, reduce errors, improve dock efficiency, and support Lean initiatives.

Train and support shipping associates while promoting safety, accountability, teamwork, and compliance with established procedures. What will help you thrive in this role? High School Diploma or GED.

Strong knowledge of SAP shipping transactions, Transportation Management Systems (TMS), shipping documentation, warehouse operations, inventory control, and production scheduling concepts.

Ability to prioritize competing demands and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Strong organizational skills with a high sense of urgency and attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Proven problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues before they impact customers.

Leadership experience with a focus on team development, accountability, and operational excellence.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and performance metric analysis.
