The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management, supply chain logistics, and warehouse management. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient flow of goods, maintaining safety standards, and leading a team of dock workers to meet operational goals. Responsibilities Supervise daily dock operations, including shipping and receiving activities. Coordinate with demand planning and transportation planning teams to optimize logistics processes. Manage the utilization of 3PL services to enhance operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies within the dock area. Oversee the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring accuracy in shipping documentation. Train and mentor dock staff on best practices in warehouse management and equipment operation. Monitor inventory levels and assist in stock control efforts. Utilize systems for tracking shipments, inventory management, and reporting performance metrics. Qualifications Proven experience in operations management within a distribution center or warehouse environment. Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, including shipping, receiving, and inventory control. Familiarity with forklift operation; certification is a plus. Experience with demand planning and transportation planning methodologies. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for effective team leadership and collaboration. Proficient in using warehouse management systems and other relevant software tools.
