At PCC Structurals - Carson City, shipping is the final step between completed production and the customer. The Level III Shipping Coordinator keeps that step moving by tracking orders, driving shipment priorities, resolving problems, and maintaining focus on daily sales-to-ship goals. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who sees what needs to happen, follows through, and keeps others aligned. You'll serve as the Shipping Supervisor's right-hand person and primary backup while helping lead the daily flow of work through the shipping dock.WHAT YOU'LL DO
Track scheduled orders and maintain visibility into what must ship each day. Lead daily dock meetings covering shipment priorities, sales objectives, product status, constraints, and next steps. Monitor actual and projected shipment performance against daily sales-to-ship goals. Identify orders at risk of missing shipment commitments and follow up until issues are resolved. Coordinate with Production, Quality, Sales, and plant leadership to remove barriers that could delay shipment. Prioritize dock activities based on customer commitments, production status, shipment readiness, and daily objectives. Assign and provide direction on daily work for Shipping employees. Keep the Shipping Supervisor informed of shipment progress, delays, risks, and operational concerns. Serve as the primary backup to the Shipping Supervisor and coordinate daily dock operations during Supervisor absences. Review parts, quantities, certifications, purchase-order requirements, and shipping documentation before product leaves the facility. Prepare and process packing slips, bills of lading, certifications, invoices, labels, and other required documents. Coordinate FedEx, UPS, freight, international, and other carrier shipments. Complete ERP transactions, customer portal requirements, ASN/EDI transactions, and applicable shipping records. Research and resolve discrepancies involving certifications, quantities, purchase orders, product identification, and shipping instructions. Train and mentor Level I and Level II Shipping Coordinators. Support improvements to dock workflow, shipping accuracy, documentation processes, and on-time delivery. High school diploma or GED required. Additional education or training in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field preferred. Previous experience in shipping, logistics, manufacturing, production control, documentation, customer service, or related work preferred. Experience leading daily work, coordinating employees, or serving as a supervisor's backup is strongly preferred. Experience tracking orders, managing shipment priorities, and working toward daily shipping or sales goals. Experience with ERP/MRP systems and computerized shipping systems preferred. Experience with FedEx, UPS, freight, carrier scheduling, or similar shipping platforms preferred. Experience with international shipping documentation, customer portals, ASN/EDI transactions, or aerospace manufacturing requirements is valuable. Ability to interpret purchase orders, shop travelers, certifications, shipping instructions, and customer requirements. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data-entry systems. Basic mathematical skills, including decimals and fractions. Strong organization, follow-through, problem-solving, and attention to detail. Ability to identify shipment risks, set priorities, and communicate concerns promptly. Ability to provide work direction and lead effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday. Ability to move regularly between office, shipping dock, and manufacturing areas. Ability to perform frequent computer work, data entry, and documentation review. Ability to bend, reach, stoop, push, and pull as required during shipping activities. Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds independently; heavier items require assistance or approved lifting devices. Ability to safely operate applicable material-handling equipment when trained and authorized. Ability to work in a manufacturing and shipping environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, varying temperatures, and vehicle traffic.
