Stella-Jones is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Coordinator to join our team in Silver Springs, NV . In this role, you will be the central hub of our yard and logistics operations—overseeing the accurate, safe, and timely movement of inbound and outbound freight by truck and rail. Key Responsibilities Inbound Logistics & Receiving:
Inspect incoming shipments, verify documentation against physical counts, and ensure accurate receiving records.
Outbound Logistics & Dispatch:
Coordinate, schedule, and order trucks and rail cars for outgoing shipments. Prepare all necessary shipping manifests and paperwork.
Quality & Accuracy Verification:
Ensure all customer-specific shipping requirements are fulfilled. Maintain outbound photo logs and documentation to verify order correctness.
Rail Fleet & Demurrage Management:
Monitor rail car movement and document/track demurrage reasons to optimize logistics efficiency.
Yard & Documentation Flow:
Consolidate paperwork from the yard, promptly enter data into internal systems, and distribute records to the appropriate personnel.
Safety Leadership:
Actively participate in and support the facility's safety culture, following all plant protocols and procedures.
Team Support:
Perform other related logistics and administrative duties as needed to support plant operations.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
1-3+ years of experience in shipping/receiving, logistics coordination, yard management, or warehouse operations (experience with rail shipments/demurrage is a strong plus). Attention to
Detail:
Proven track record of high accuracy in inventory counts, shipping paperwork, and data entry.
Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with drivers, yard crews, carriers, and office staff.
Tech-Savvy:
Comfortable utilizing inventory/shipping management software, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and digital logs.
