Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Assistant Foreman to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing daily operations in the Lumber Yard, ensuring that orders are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. This position requires a strong understanding of management principles, as well as inventory and delivery processes. The Assistant Foreman will work closely with the Foreman to oversee various products into the facility, movements of product within the facility, and the picking and loading of product shipping out of the facility; ensures that all policies and procedures are followed. Responsibilities Directly supervises all employees within the yard department(s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems . Experience One to two years' related experience or previous warehouse inventory responsibilities to include cycle counting, reconciliation and identifying aging orders. Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems and proficiency in relevant computer software (Epicor preferred). Experience using an RF Scanner Familiar with ERP and SOP's. Knowledge of stacking storage racks and utilizing rolling bases, racks rolling system. Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods. Ability to work with minimal supervision and lead others to success.
