OVERVIEW & PURPOSE
This position verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Primary Pick, pack & process supply orders through UPS shipping system or local carrier per routing guides. Make sure all supply orders printed by 3PM ship the same day Receive inbound shipment by matching packing slips with products received. Any discrepancies should be noted on the bill of lading & packing slip - notify Purchasing/Inventory Coordinator immediately. Carefully inspect inbound equipment shipments for any freight damage. Open & inspect any equipment with carton damage - get shop assistance as needed. Pull & unbox equipment orders. Fill backorders the same day merchandise is received. Assist Vision Center Reps with freight charges & answering questions regarding status of items (in stock, out of stock). Secondary Complete daily forklift inspection report & monthly battery check. Restock shelves or flow rack daily, or more often if needed. Complete Call Tags to have merchandise picked up from customer locations. Log items returned on "Merchandise Returned" forms at least once a week. Assist with monthly physical inventory counts. File orders by day and store in file cabinet. Comply with warehouse safety & housekeeping guidelines. Assist co-workers when they need files to be retrieved from the warehouse. Other Responsibilities Keep warehouse clean. Sweep floors and dust shelves. Shred documents/reports.
Miscellaneous Building maintenance:
change ceiling tiles & light bulbs. Move office furniture when needed. Salt walkways when necessary.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee regularly is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift, push, pull, and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift, push, pull, and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift, push, pull, and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
POSITION TYPE & EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. TRAVEL No travel is expected for this position.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Certified forklift operator Must be able to operate banding unit, compactor, pallet & hand truck. Must be able to operate UPS Manifest system.
