Job Description

Position Summary The Warehouse Operations Lead is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activities for a nationwide bathroom products wholesale business, the glass block business, and regional remodeling operations while actively participating in shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, and inventory management. This is a hands-on role in an entrepreneurial team-oriented environment where efficiency, accuracy, and accountability are critical. Candidate must work well with a wide range of people and be willing to not only focus on warehouse duties
  • but also provide fabrication assistance as required. The Warehouse Operations Lead will report to the Operations Manager. Core Responsibilities
  • Order Fulfillment & Shipping Pick, pack, and stage orders accurately and efficiently Operate lift trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment Verify orders prior to shipment to ensure accuracy Coordinate outbound shipments (LTL, parcel, jobsite deliveries)
  • Receiving & Inventory Control Receive incoming shipments and inspect for damage or discrepancies Organize and stock materials in designated locations Maintain inventory accuracy through monthly counts
  • Warehouse Organization & Efficiency & Delivery Challenges Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse Optimize layout for efficient picking and storage Implement basic process improvements (labeling, product locations, flow) Identify

  • either opportunities to become more efficient (through products, companies we work with, processes) or problems which need to be address to any/all key leaders in the company. Do whatever it takes to expedite orders
  • and/or improve the packaging/delivery process to ensure customers see the operation as a reliable and responsive partner.
  • Team Leadership (Small Team) Provide daily direction to other warehouse associates Lead by example through hands-on work Assist in training new employees Help prioritize daily workload
  • Equipment & Safety Safely operate forklifts and equipment and recommend when maintenance is required and/or call for periodic preventive maintenance Perform basic equipment checks and maintenance Enforce safety procedures
  • Coordination, Communication, & Fabrication/Field Assistance Work with sales and customer service on order priorities Work with the Operations Manager to determine which glass block orders are being fabricated.
Communicate inventory or supply shortages or delays to the Operations Manager Assist with scheduling inbound/outbound shipments with the Accounting/Office Manager and Operations Manager. Assist in fabrication of glass block windows/walls as required. Occasionally help in the field.

  • Key Factors for Success Order accuracy rate at 98% plus On-time shipping at 98% plus Inventory accuracy Warehouse organization/cleanliness Will pitch in where required with field, warehouse, and fabrication personnel Is willing to recommend improvements, and identify errors before they happen Acts as the bridge between office (sales/orders), warehouse, and installation personnel to keep things moving efficiently and effectively.
