Role:
The Shipping Coordinator plays a critical role in managing and overseeing the entire shipping process to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods. The Shipping Coordinator will work closely with logistics providers and internal teams to optimize shipping schedules and resolve any issues that arise during transit. This role requires meticulous attention to detail to track shipments, prepare necessary documentation, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders. Ultimately, the Shipping Coordinator ensures that the supply chain operates smoothly, contributing to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to lift and move heavy packages up to 50 pounds safely. Proven experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain coordination. Familiarity with shipping documentation and regulatory requirements. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in using shipping software and Microsoft Office applications. Work schedule is M-F, 9 am to 6 pm.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS). Knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs procedures. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and schedule shipments with carriers, suppliers, and internal departments to meet delivery deadlines. Prepare and verify shipping documents such as bills of lading, packing lists, and customs paperwork. Monitor shipment status and proactively address delays or issues by communicating with logistics partners and customers. Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory levels, and transportation costs for reporting and auditing purposes. Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure proper packaging, labeling, and loading of goods for shipment. Ensure compliance with all relevant shipping regulations, safety standards, and company policies. Assist in resolving discrepancies related to shipments, including damaged or lost goods. Continuously evaluate shipping processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
