Are you a hands-on leader with a passion for precision and quality? We're looking for a Molding Supervisor to guide our production team, ensure top-notch output, and keep operations running smoothly.
Position Overview:
The Molding Supervisor motivates, trains, and supports the staff daily, applying a team approach and maintaining open communication. The Molding Supervisor supports operations through technical process optimization, problem solving, and troubleshooting. This position works cross-functionally with the Engineering department to ensure developed process specifications are maintained and improved when needed. The Molding Supervisor should recommend and implement improvements to production processes, cycle times, methods, and controls.

Leads by example and supervises molding team activity Directing the needs of molding through supervision of molding operators, material handlers, mold set-up technicians, and process technicians. Molding manager technical activities include, but are not limited to,
  • 3-axis robotics
  • 2-stage and 3-stage injection molding processes
  • Horizontal molding machines and processes, including processing multiple core-pull / multiple cavity tooling
  • Hot Runner process example asking using hot drop and valve gate equipment
  • Material handling equipment such as color feeders, hoppers, Gaylord tippers, driers, etc.
  • Auxiliary equipment such as thermolators, chillers, hot runner controls Fosters a culture of Lean Management Principles Leverages the assistance and guidance from other departments
  • to execute against the molding demands (i.
e. tooling; maintenance; automation, processing, etc.) Extracts or collects the information/recommendations from the daily production activities and brings it back to the core operating team to discuss and resolve production concerns Interviews, guides, and when necessary, assist with disciplinary issues and motivational tactics of employees Assists in training activities for operators, materials handlers, mold set-up technicians, and process technicians. Identification of undocumented process, lack of process and process gaps within molding to recommend and implement solutions. Works closely with quality, CSR's, Tooling, Processing, Engineering, Maintenance, and other operational functions to quickly resolve customer issues, and implement preventive measures moving forward Use of MRP system (IQMS) as it relates specifically to job related activities Perform other responsibilities as needed to support the success of the organization
Required Qualifications:

Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, production processes, systems and tools Knowledge of Materials Requirement Planning system (IQMS preferred). Be able to address complaints and solve problems Lean manufacturing concepts Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form Demonstrates ability in basic troubleshooting, problem solving, and decision making Ability to perform Process Capability Studies Ability to apply concepts of Scientific Molding Develop the appropriate injection molding process and relevant documentation for new product launch Have knowledge of continuous improvement principles and practices Exhibit analytical ability to collect and use data to problem-solve Ability to supervise and manage other employees (interview, train, assign, direct, counsel and motivate) Can read and interpret documents such as standard operating procedures, safety rules, instructions, etc. Basic HR knowledge (managerial skills) Productivity and continuous improvement principles and practices Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Communication skills, verbal and written Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry Encourages teamwork

Education/Training and Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment Minimum of 3 years of experience with injection molding processes, equipment, and materials or equivalent training
