Contract to Hire (on-site) Archon Resources is currently looking for a Shipping Supervisor to join one of our best clients located in Oklahoma City, OK . This is a contract to hire with the opportunity to convert to permanent after 6 months.
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Shipping Supervisor to oversee daily shipping operations while actively supporting packaging, logistics, and shipment preparation. This position will lead the shipping team, ensure accurate documentation, coordinate with carriers, and help maintain efficient, safe, and timely shipment of products.
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily shipping activities, workflow, and team performance. Prepare accurate shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), commercial documents, and related freight paperwork. Generate shipping labels for parcel shipments and coordinate shipments through major parcel and freight carriers. Coordinate LTL, truckload, parcel, and international shipments. Ensure shipments are properly packaged, documented, scheduled, and delivered on time. Work with freight carriers, customs brokers, vendors, customers, and internal departments to resolve shipping issues. Monitor shipment accuracy, freight requirements, and customer specifications. Support shipping functions directly as needed, including packaging, documentation, and shipment preparation. Identify opportunities to improve shipping processes, efficiency, accuracy, and customer service. Ensure compliance with applicable shipping, export, customs, and safety requirements. Lead by example while maintaining a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of shipping, warehouse, logistics, or related experience. Strong knowledge of domestic and international shipping procedures. Experience with parcel carriers, LTL, truckload, and international freight. Working knowledge of export documentation and customs requirements. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail and accuracy. Strong computer and data entry skills. Ability to work independently while effectively leading a team. Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification. Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds. Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of relevant shipping, warehouse, or logistics experience. Experience with shipping and freight carrier platforms such as FedEx Ship Manager and UPS WorldShip. Experience with ERP or manufacturing software preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Ability to read and interpret shipping regulations, technical procedures, customer specifications, and export documentation. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, carriers, vendors, customs brokers, and internal teams. Ability to calculate freight weights, dimensions, percentages, ratios, and shipping measurements. Ability to analyze reports, identify problems, establish priorities, and make sound decisions.
