Job Description

Shipping & Inventory Coordinator Company Overview Nicholas Enterprises, Inc. has been a trusted provider of material handling and storage services since 1902. With over 65 years in the river transportation industry, we specialize in superior rail, truck, barge, and warehouse solutions throughout the Port of Pittsburgh and central Pennsylvania. Our Pittsburgh Intermodal Terminal (PIT) in Ambridge, PA, is a 37-acre, full-service facility offering barge, rail, and truck off-loading, reloading, and storage. We also provide value-added services, including welding and fabrication. Position Overview We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to support our shipping and receiving operations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a commitment to customer service, and a willingness to take on various tasks. Prior experience is preferred, but we are willing to train motivated candidates. Key Responsibilities Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency Process and verify work orders, bills of lading, and shipment documentation Assist customers with inventory tracking and reporting Maintain compliance with company standards, procedures, and safety regulations Identify and report any operational issues Maintain a positive, team-oriented office environment Ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence Utilize Microsoft Excel, Access, and other tools for record-keeping and reporting Support general office tasks and operations as needed Qualifications Reliable transportation and a strong work ethic Previous shipping/receiving experience is a plus Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel & Access required) Ability to read and process work orders and bills of lading Prior experience in shipping/receiving or logistics is a plus Compensation & Benefits Competitive wages based on experience 401(K) with company match Health insurance Paid time off Join our team and be part of a company with a rich history and a commitment to excellence in logistics.
