POSITION SUMMARY
The Shift Supervisor ensures all warehouse functions, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping, run accurately and on schedule during their shift by directing the team's execution of documented processes. This role owns problem-shipment resolution across Sales, Order Entry, and Accounting, catching and closing issues before they reach the client. When the Warehouse Manager is out, this person also takes ownership of inventory accuracy and space utilization, keeping the full warehouse operation running without disruption.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
No warehouse function, receiving, put-away, picking, packing, or shipping, falls behind or produces errors under this role's watch during their shift, and any error is caught and corrected before it affects the client or the next function downstream. The warehouse team executes documented processes across every function without needing this role to intervene on routine work. Problem shipments are resolved with Sales, Order Entry, and Accounting fast enough that they never become a client-facing issue. When the Warehouse Manager is out, overall warehouse operations continue without disruption because documented processes are being followed across every function, not just shipping.
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
Safety
- Maintains a safe warehouse floor across all shift functions by ensuring documented safety protocols are actively followed, preventing incidents rather than reacting to them. Shift-wide operational accuracy and timeliness
