Shipping Supervisor

  • Kulpsville, PA Mon-Fri 7am-4:30pm $70
  • 80K starting salary The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a fast-paced shipping department, leading a team of 10-12 Shipping Associates to ensure accurate, efficient, and on-time shipment of customer orders.
This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to streamline processes to improve productivity, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. The Shipping Supervisor will ensure all shipping activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 10-12 Shipping Associates, fostering a positive, accountable, and high-performance work environment.
  • Ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of the shipping department, meeting safety, quality, productivity, and delivery goals.
  • Prioritize daily shipping activities based on customer requirements, production schedules, shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other documentation.
  • Coordinate and supervise the movement of finished goods and materials from production and warehouse areas to staging and shipping locations.
  • Inspect loading operations to ensure shipments are accurate, properly packaged, and compliant with customer specifications, transportation regulations, and company procedures.
  • Arrange transportation and coordinate with carriers, freight companies, and internal departments to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve shipping procedures, workflows, and departmental processes to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through proper shipping documentation, material handling practices, and communication with warehouse and inventory teams.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area that complies with company policies, OSHA regulations, and 5S or lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damaged shipments, customer issues, and carrier-related concerns in a timely manner.
  • Conduct employee training, cross-training, performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, safety awareness, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with Production, Warehouse, Inventory Control, Customer Service, and Logistics teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment and customer satisfaction. Qualifications
  • Previous experience supervising shipping, warehouse, logistics, or distribution operations.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate employees in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Experience with shipping documentation, bills of lading, freight carriers, and transportation coordination.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP, WMS, Microsoft Office, and shipping management systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, or process optimization principles is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet demanding deadlines while maintaining a high level of customer service.
