Job Description
Shipping Supervisor
- Direct Hire
- Kulpsville, PA Mon-Fri 7am-4:30pm $70
- 80K starting salary The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a fast-paced shipping department, leading a team of 10-12 Shipping Associates to ensure accurate, efficient, and on-time shipment of customer orders.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 10-12 Shipping Associates, fostering a positive, accountable, and high-performance work environment.
- Ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of the shipping department, meeting safety, quality, productivity, and delivery goals.
- Prioritize daily shipping activities based on customer requirements, production schedules, shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other documentation.
- Coordinate and supervise the movement of finished goods and materials from production and warehouse areas to staging and shipping locations.
- Inspect loading operations to ensure shipments are accurate, properly packaged, and compliant with customer specifications, transportation regulations, and company procedures.
- Arrange transportation and coordinate with carriers, freight companies, and internal departments to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve shipping procedures, workflows, and departmental processes to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through proper shipping documentation, material handling practices, and communication with warehouse and inventory teams.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area that complies with company policies, OSHA regulations, and 5S or lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damaged shipments, customer issues, and carrier-related concerns in a timely manner.
- Conduct employee training, cross-training, performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, safety awareness, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with Production, Warehouse, Inventory Control, Customer Service, and Logistics teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment and customer satisfaction. Qualifications
- Previous experience supervising shipping, warehouse, logistics, or distribution operations.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate employees in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Experience with shipping documentation, bills of lading, freight carriers, and transportation coordination.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with ERP, WMS, Microsoft Office, and shipping management systems preferred.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, or process optimization principles is a plus.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet demanding deadlines while maintaining a high level of customer service.
