The Maintenance Coordinator I supports fleet operations by coordinating emergency repairs and maintenance services to keep heavy-duty equipment safe, reliable, and operational. This position works closely with drivers, mechanics, and terminal personnel to minimize downtime and maintain efficient freight operations. (Afternoon Shift) Key Responsibilities Coordinate emergency roadside repairs and communicate breakdown information to mechanics and service providers. Arrange maintenance services and follow up to ensure repairs and required documentation are completed promptly. Enter and maintain accurate repair and breakdown information in company systems. Communicate with terminals regarding breakdowns and assist with coordinating freight recovery. Assist drivers with transportation, lodging, and other needs resulting from equipment breakdowns. Maintain detailed records and provide clear shift-to-shift communication on outstanding repairs. Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes and operational efficiency. Promote a safe, professional, and positive work environment. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma/GED required; trade or technical school preferred. Minimum one year of experience with heavy-duty trucks, fleet maintenance, or repair coordination preferred. Working knowledge of heavy-duty trucks and hydraulic systems. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure. Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn web-based fleet systems such as TMT and OVISS. Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and customer service.
