In this pivotal role, you will manage inventory control, streamline warehouse distribution, and lead a team of warehouse staff to ensure efficient materials handling, shipping, and receiving. Your expertise in warehouse management systems, process improvement, and team leadership will drive operational excellence and support our company's growth. Duties Lead daily warehouse activities including inventory management, shipping & receiving, and materials handling to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. Oversee warehouse distribution processes, coordinating with 3PL providers and internal teams to optimize delivery schedules and reduce lead times. Implement process improvements using best practices in warehouse management systems (such as AS400) to increase efficiency, accuracy, and safety. Manage inventory control procedures, conducting regular audits and cycle counts to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize discrepancies. Supervise warehouse staff by providing training on forklift operation, OSHA safety standards, heavy lifting techniques, and materials handling protocols. Ensure compliance with safety regulations including OSHA guidelines; conduct safety audits and promote a culture of safety awareness among team members. Collaborate with logistics partners to coordinate transportation schedules, shipping documentation, and freight management for both domestic and e-commerce orders. Utilize mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues; oversee maintenance of forklifts and other warehouse machinery. Maintain detailed records within warehouse management systems (WMS) like AS400; generate reports on inventory status, shipment tracking, and operational KPIs. Foster a positive team environment through effective communication, performance management, and ongoing training initiatives. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse supervision or logistics leadership with a strong understanding of warehouse operations. Extensive knowledge of inventory management techniques, materials handling equipment (including forklift operation), and shipping & receiving procedures. Familiarity with warehouse management systems such as AS400 or equivalent platforms. Strong process improvement skills with the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement effective solutions. Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment issues; experience with forklift certification preferred. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards relevant to warehousing environments; commitment to maintaining a safe workplace. Experience working with 3PL providers and managing complex logistics workflows for e-commerce fulfillment is highly desirable. Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff, delegate tasks effectively, and foster collaboration. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely; comfortable working in fast-paced environments requiring attention to detail.
