Job Description
Operations Supervisor
Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate all production and warehouse activities to meet safety, quality, and output targets in a food manufacturing facility.
Enforce HACCP, USDA, and FDA regulatory requirements and maintain accurate documentation for audits and inspections.
Lead, train and mentor production and warehouse staff; manage schedules, performance, and staffing needs.
Implement and sustain Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to improve throughput, reduce waste, and optimize processes.
Monitor production metrics, inventory levels, and material flow between production and warehousing to ensure on-time delivery.
Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Engineering to resolve production issues, non-conformances, and equipment downtime.
Oversee sanitation, GMPs, and food safety programs; coordinate corrective actions and continuous improvement plans.
Manage safety programs and promote a culture of workplace safety, conduct/toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
Qualifications3+ years supervisory experience in food manufacturing or related manufacturing environment.
Proven experience in food manufacturing with exposure to dairy and/or meat processing operations preferred.
Strong knowledge of HACCP principles and practical experience implementing food safety programs.
Familiarity with USDA and FDA regulations applicable to food, dairy, and meat production.
Experience applying Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies; certification (e.g., Green Belt) is a plus.
Experience managing warehouse/warehousing operations and inventory control systems (WMS/ERP experience is desirable).Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives.
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment, including flexible hours and occasional weekend support as needed.
