Job Description

Overview The Terminal Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of terminal and pipeline activities while ensuring full regulatory compliance. The role involves monitoring and controlling product movement through pipelines, tanks, and transportation interfaces, as well as performing inspections, testing, and accurate recordkeeping. Working closely with control centers, schedulers, and customers, the individual helps resolve operational issues and maintain reliable product flow. The position requires adaptability to a 24/7 operating environment, a strong safety focus, and the ability to manage a wide range of equipment and responsibilities independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities Safety First:
Perform all work in a safe manner to achieve Goal Zero.
Product Handling:
Monitor pipeline equipment, meters, and computer systems; gauge and test product in storage tanks; oversee product flow through pipelines, tank farm, truck rack, dock, and rail operations.
Scheduling & Line-Ups:
Follow scheduling orders and conduct pipeline line-ups for product receipts.
Monitoring & Inspections:
Track instrumentation and product movement for deviations; perform tank gauging, inspections, and pipeline checks; maintain accurate records and stock accounting.
Testing & Calibration:
Validate and calibrate testing equipment; pull samples and perform product testing for gravity and sediment/water.
Compliance:
Adhere to SPCC Plan, Local Operating Procedures, and all Federal, State, and Local regulations; maintain Operator Qualifications and HSSE standards.
Collaboration:
Work with Control Center, Scheduling, and customers to resolve conflicts and communicate equipment issues.
Continuous Improvement:
Participate in audits, inspections, AMS/SAP processes, and Loss/Gain troubleshooting. Qualifications Individual contributor role, with teamwork required for successful operations. Self-driven tasks with collaboration on projects and initiatives. Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) required.
