The Opportunity:
We are seeking a hands-on Warehouse Operations Lead to help keep our Brenham warehouse safe, accurate, efficient, and ready to support customers and production every day. You will be a visible leader on the floor—spotting issues early, reinforcing standards, supporting supervisors, and following through until problems are resolved. Responsibilities and Duties:
Maintain a strong, visible presence across receiving, storage, production flow, staging, and shipping areas. Complete regular warehouse walkthroughs to identify safety, product, equipment, housekeeping, inventory, and process concerns. Verify that supervisors and employees are following established procedures and completing assigned responsibilities. Address unsafe conditions or behaviours promptly and reinforce GMP, PPE, forklift, seatbelt, inspection, and housekeeping requirements. Monitor shipping and receiving activities for accuracy, proper documentation, staging, loading, unloading, and coordination with production. Promote FIFO compliance, accurate product identification, proper handling of partial pallets, and timely correction of inventory discrepancies. Track railcar arrivals, releases, dwell time, and potential demurrage exposure, escalating significant concerns when needed. Ensure equipment deficiencies are reported, unsafe equipment is removed from service when appropriate, and facility concerns are followed through to resolution. Investigate recurring problems, identify root causes, and recommend practical improvements to safety, accuracy, efficiency, and cost. Provide clear updates to the Warehouse & Logistics Manager regarding significant issues, trends, and recommended actions. Do you have what it takes? Experience in warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, distribution, or a similar operational environment. Demonstrated ability to lead, influence others, and hold people accountable respectfully. A strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational standards. Excellent attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and sound judgment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use observation and data to make decisions. Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with employees, supervisors, management, drivers, and other departments. The ability to prioritize multiple issues in a fast-paced environment. Comfort spending significant time on the warehouse floor. Basic computer and data-entry skills. What will help you perform the job? Warehouse leadership or supervisory experience. Experience with inventory control, FIFO systems, shipping, receiving, railcars, or bulk material handling. Experience with warehouse management or ERP systems. Forklift experience or certification. Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills an asset. You will reduce recurring shipping, receiving, inventory, FIFO, housekeeping, and equipment issues; identify risks before they affect customers or production; and build trust by being consistent, fair, and willing to follow through.
