Job Description
Lumber Sales & Shipping CoordinatorPosition Summary We are seeking a motivated and organized Lumber Sales & Shipping Coordinator to join our Southern Yellow Pine (SYP) sawmill team. This position is responsible for managing lumber sales, coordinating shipments, scheduling trucking, maintaining inventory, and preparing kiln charge lists. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective lumber customers. Manage lumber sales from order entry through delivery. Coordinate shipping schedules and arrange trucking for customer orders. Communicate with customers, carriers, and mill personnel to ensure timely shipments. Monitor finished lumber inventory and maintain accurate inventory records. Prepare and manage kiln charge lists to support production scheduling. Coordinate with production, planer mill, and shipping departments to maximize efficiency. Resolve shipping, inventory, and customer service issues as they arise. Prepare shipping documentation and maintain sales and shipment records. Assist with forecasting inventory availability and customer order fulfillment. Qualifications Previous experience in lumber sales, forest products, sawmill operations, logistics, or shipping preferred. Knowledge of Southern Yellow Pine lumber grades and products is a plus. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent customer service and communication abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and inventory management software. Ability to work independently while collaborating with production and shipping teams. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
