Yard Lead - Heavy Equipment Spherion is hiring a Yard Lead with heavy equipment experience!

PM Job Type:

Full-time Spherion is looking for an experienced, hands-on Yard Lead to join a local team. This position is a great fit for someone who has experience operating a variety of heavy equipment, has some mechanical knowledge, and can take the lead and get things done without needing constant direction. This is a working lead position, so you'll help keep daily yard operations moving while working alongside and providing direction to a small, experienced team. What You'll Do Operate various types of heavy equipment safely and efficiently Assist with basic mechanical work and minor equipment-related tasks Help oversee and coordinate the daily work of a small yard team Identify what needs to be done and take initiative without waiting for direction Enter and update information for heavy equipment coming into the facility Use work pages and electronic timekeeping/clock-in systems Help keep the yard organized, productive, and operating safely Complete other general yard and equipment-related duties as needed Equipment Experience Candidates should have experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment.

Experience may include:

Backhoes Trackhoes/Excavators Skid Steers Rollers Forklifts Other heavy equipment What We're Looking For Previous heavy equipment operating experience Experience with multiple types of equipment strongly preferred Basic mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with equipment Previous lead or leadership experience is a plus Comfortable with technology and basic computer systems, including navigating work pages, using an electronic clock-in system, and entering equipment information Self-motivated and able to work independently Takes initiative and stays productive without constant supervision Dependable and safety-minded Comfortable working outside in Texas weather with no air-conditioned work area Able to limit personal phone use while working Reliable transportation Steel-toe boots Basic tools for small jobs Overtime The regular schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. Overtime opportunities may be available, typically by coming in around 7:00 AM and/or working through the one-hour lunch when needed.
