Summary Responsible for overseeing a wide variety of warehouse activities including Shipping & Receiving of raw materials and finished goods while maintaining inventory and associated records. People management responsibilities include training, planning, assigning daily work and evaluations. Duties Responsible for the daily warehouse Shipping & Receiving (Across all 3 Shifts as well as off-site warehouse.
Including but not limited to:
- Filling and shipping customer orders.
- Satisfying internal/external shipping requirements.
- Ensuring accuracy of shipments and supporting documentation.
- Receiving incoming material and routing to appropriate area.
- Packaging assemblies and receiving them in to finished goods.
- Ensuring inventory transactions are accurately logged.
- Overseeing cycle counts and reconciliation activities.
Maintaining departmental work instructions for all tasks. Establishing or adjusting work procedures to meet warehouse demands as dictated by production schedules and workflow. Recommending measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department and work crew and equipment performance. Conferring with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments. Utilizing docks, warehouse layout and route trucking loading patterns that minimize loading time. Point of contact with trucking companies coordinating inbound & outbound shipments. Training & performance assessment of new department personnel. Maintaining storage area by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements. Maintaining all housekeeping and safety standards. Qualifications/Skills (Basic Required): 3 - 5 years of relevant warehouse experience. Ability to lead a small group of people, with some working on off shifts. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to make calculations such as freight estimates, dimensional weight, etc. Knowledge of general business computer software (Outlook, Excel, Word) and aptitude to learn new software applications (IQMS, etc..). Ability to meet physical requirements including: a variety of standing, sitting and walking throughout the day, lifting up to 20 pounds, Usage of pallet jacks, high lifts, fork trucks, and occasional climbing of ladders.
