Job Summary :
The Logistics and Shipping Lead will assist the Logistics and Inventory Supervisor in the Logistics management of an organization's logistics systems. They will coordinate the shipment and distribution of goods, inspect goods and materials, track shipments, manage inventory, and communicate with customers and third-party service providers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Follow all safety rules and regulations, all work must be done thinking Safety First . Plan and coordinate, on a daily basis, the most effective transportation with LTL and sub-contract carriers. Plan and coordinate, on a daily basis, the most effective transportation with organizational vehicles. Plan and coordinate, on a daily basis, the most effective yard employee work arrangement. Manage and ensure all work orders are complete and accurate once they are brought to shipping. Maintain neat and accurate shipping records including all daily logs/GPS/Scale Tickets. Provide an emphasis on driver safety training and reporting across affiliated companies. Coordinate with the Logistics and Inventory Supervisor and Accounting Department on issues related to vehicle leases, accidents, and other regulatory requirements. Manage the company s vehicle safety program. Drive the vision and culture of our company in order to deliver great customer service. Develop employees by ensuring proper training and providing ongoing feedback and coaching. Ensure all company policy and procedures are followed by self and all employees. Participate and lead in assigned work projects.
