Job Title:
Warehouse Supervisor Job Description As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in meeting business objectives related to safety, quality, productivity, and responsiveness. You will support and counsel hourly employees, address performance behaviors, and engage the workforce in problem-solving processes. Utilizing quality network problem-solving methods, you will apply the Workplace Organization process to improve layouts and efficiency, and ensure accurate payroll processing through daily Timekeeping System updates. Responsibilities Counsel and support hourly employees with their needs and concerns. Address performance behaviors, commend positive actions, and discipline negative behaviors. Engage the workforce in problem-solving using the Quality Network process. Apply the Workplace Organization process to improve layouts and efficiency. Perform daily updates in the Timekeeping System for accurate payroll processing. Use A-3 reporting format for documenting problem-solving activities. Conduct daily huddle-up meetings to discuss business performance and engage employees. Perform and document weekly safety observation tours of the department. Plan daily workloads in advance and support colleagues to optimize shift performance. Enforce shop rules and observe contractual requirements. Perform daily SOP audit checks and advance skills through the Individual Development Plan process. Keep the General Supervisor Shop Committee informed of pending activities. Essential Skills Strong supervisory and management skills. Ability to lead and motivate others while performing progressive discipline. Experience with UAW or Union leadership, and warehouse management. Proficiency in shipping and receiving, automotive manufacturing, and parts distribution. Familiarity with safety procedures and warehouse management systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications At least 3 years of warehouse supervision experience, ideally in UAW or automotive. Experience overseeing 30-40 people. Strong people skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse workforce. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Problem-solving skills and maintaining performance under pressure. Experience managing a team in a Union environment, preferably UAW. Why Work Here? Work Environment The facility operates on a 3-shift schedule: 1st shift (7am-3pm), 2nd shift (3:30pm-11:30pm), and 3rd shift (11pm-7am). Supervisors are required to arrive 30 minutes early for pre-shift meetings. Overtime is common, and the workweek typically includes 6-7 days with 9-12 hour shifts. The facility is a parts processing center with multiple break rooms and an open-concept supervision room equipped with new technology and conference rooms. The dress code is business casual, and all necessary personal protective equipment is provided and required on the plant floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Burton, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
