Job Description

The Warehouse Manager is a hands on leadership position responsible for the daily operation, organization, safety, inventory control, and overall performance of the warehouse. This position leads warehouse personnel and ensures installers and service technicians have the correct materials, parts, hardware, and equipment needed to complete scheduled residential and commercial work efficiently and accurately. The Warehouse Manager serves as the primary point of accountability for warehouse operations and works closely with field employees, purchasing, scheduling, Human Resources, and company leadership. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong leadership, organization, accountability, communication, problem-solving skills, and mechanical aptitude.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Warehouse & Inventory Operations Oversee daily warehouse and yard operations, organization, cleanliness, and workflow. Establish daily priorities and assign responsibilities to warehouse personnel. Ensure materials are properly received, inspected, documented, stored, staged, loaded, and returned. Maintain accurate inventory records Investigate inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, shortages, and recurring material issues. Coordinate with purchasing to maintain appropriate inventory levels and prevent shortages. Installer & Technician Support Ensure materials and equipment are accurately prepared for scheduled installation and service work. Establish procedures for verifying loads and documenting materials issued to field employees. Coordinate missing, damaged, incorrect, returned, or unavailable materials. Balance inventory accountability with keeping field employees productive and moving efficiently. Leadership & Accountability Lead, train, coach, and support warehouse employees. Establish clear performance expectations and hold employees accountable to company procedures. Monitor productivity, attendance, accuracy, teamwork, safety, and overall performance. Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, performance reviews, and corrective action as appropriate. Promote professional communication and cooperation between warehouse and field personnel. Safety & Process Improvement Maintain safe warehouse and yard operations and enforce company safety requirements. Ensure proper use of PPE and safe operation of forklifts and material-handling equipment. Immediately address hazards and escalate serious safety concerns. Identify operational bottlenecks and recurring errors and implement approved process improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous warehouse, inventory, construction, distribution, manufacturing, or material-handling experience. Previous leadership, supervisory, or management experience. Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to lead employees and maintain accountability in a fast-paced environment. Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail. Forklift and inventory-management-system experience preferred. Ability to safely lift, carry, or assist with materials weighing up to 125 pounds using appropriate assistance or equipment. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying warehouse and weather conditions.
