Job Description

The Shipping & Material Handling Lead is responsible for directing and training employees and Material Handlers within the Shipping area while ensuring efficient material flow and timely support of production operations. The lead serves as a primary point of contact for Customer Service regarding shipping-related questions and works closely with department leads to ensure material handling needs are met and teams are stocked on time. The role also supports continuous improvement of organization and workflow within the shipping area while maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive work environment. Key Responsibilities Direct & train employees in the Shipping area Direct & train Material Handlers Work with the team on better organization and flow in the shipping area Act as a primary point of contact for customer service dealing with shipping questions Work with the department leads on material handling needs and ensure their teams are stocked on time Schedule trucks for pickups and deliveries Manage returnable containers Work with Purchasing on OSP shipments Check in packages from UPS and other services Other duties as instructed or directed by direct supervisors High School education supplemented by an on-the-job training program, including outside training. Forklift Certified. Knowledge of computers, Windows environment including basic Microsoft application software, i.e. Excel and Word and Macola Software. Basic knowledge in business operations, business machines and other equipment incidental to the job.
