Would be on Friday's, typically 4, 6-or 8-hour shifts as needed. Will likely be on OT for the next 4 to 8 weeks)

Position Overview:

The Shipping Lead will work closely with the Assembly Manager, Assembly Leads, Project Management, and Shipping/Receiving to ensure finished products are properly prepared and coordinated for shipment. When shipping activity is slower, this position will assist the assembly team with various projects and tasks as needed to keep operations running efficiently. This may include assisting with internal construction or other hands-on projects throughout the facility.

Responsibilities:

Identify appropriate breakdown points when preparing equipment for teardown and shipment. Evaluate equipment weight and balance to determine safe rigging methods. Rig and move equipment safely using overhead cranes, forklifts, and boom trucks. Build custom wood skids and crates based on equipment size and shipping requirements. Secure equipment properly to skids or inside crates to prevent movement or damage during transit. Monitor and maintain inventory of lumber, hardware, tools, and other shipping supplies. Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and equipment. Assist the Shipping and Receiving Clerk with unloading paint carts, identifying incoming parts, and distributing materials to the appropriate job carts or team members. Support the Assembly Manager and Assembly Leads with various assembly and hands-on projects as needed.

Job Requirements:

Strong carpentry and woodworking skills with the ability to safely use saws, nail guns, screw guns, impact drivers, and other power tools. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to assemble, disassemble, and work on machinery using a variety of hand tools. Ability to safely operate a forklift; company-provided training and certification will be available. Solid math skills with the ability to learn and retain job-specific information. Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality. Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision. Customer-focused, dependable, and motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Effective communication skills and the ability to work well with others as part of a team.
