This hands-on leadership role supports receiving team members, coordinates incoming materials, and works closely with Production, Purchasing, Quality, and Shipping to ensure materials are received, stored, and delivered in a timely manner.

The Receiving Lead serves as a key resource within the warehouse and manufacturing environment by promoting safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other responsibilities as management deems necessary.

Leadership & Team CoordinationLead and coordinate daily receiving activities to ensure operational goals are met.

Provide training, coaching, and support to receiving team members.

Assist with workload distribution and task prioritization.

Promote a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Serve as a point of contact for receiving-related issues and problem resolution.

Receiving & Inventory ManagementCoordinate the receipt of incoming materials, parts, and supplies.

Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documentation.

Inspect incoming materials for damage, defects, and quantity discrepancies.

Document and communicate receiving issues to appropriate departments.

Ensure all materials are properly scanned and received into the business system.

Maintain accurate inventory records and storage locations.

Perform cycle counts and support inventory audits.

Monitor inventory accuracy and take corrective action when discrepancies are identified.

Material HandlingPlace incoming materials into designated inventory locations.

Pull and deliver materials to production as needed to support manufacturing requirements.

Move products and materials throughout the facility using forklifts, cranes, and other material handling equipment.

Ensure material handling equipment is inspected and maintained in safe working condition.

Documentation & ComplianceReview bills of lading, packing slips, purchase orders, invoices, and other receiving documents.

Accurately complete and maintain all required paperwork and system transactions.

Maintain compliance with company procedures and quality requirements.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment using 5S principles and best practices.

Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum of 2 years of receiving, warehouse, inventory control, or material handling experience.

Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.

Forklift operating experience required; certification preferred.

Experience with ERP, warehouse management, or inventory systems preferred.

Basic computer skills including data entry, email, and business system navigation.

Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, packing slips, and receiving documentation.

Ability to accurately use a tape measure and digital measuring tools.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Ability to work effectively with employees across multiple departments.

Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands to handle materials.

Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.

Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
