Material Handler Balance Staffing - 4.5 Huntsville, AL Job Details Contract $18 - $20 an hour 21 hours ago Benefits Paid sick time Qualifications Lifting equipment Safety protocol adherence Packing Safety regulations Forklift High school diploma or GED Materials handling Pallet jack Picking & packing Material handling equipment operation Quality data entry Full Job Description Material Handler Performs the physical process involved in the storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment and the administrative tasks including recording stock data.
Nature of Duties:
Receive and inspect incoming shipments, checking for damage or wrong quantities. Transport materials to production lines or storage racks using pallet jacks or forklifts. Pick and pack items for outbound orders and prepare goods for shipping. Track inventory and log stock movements into computer or ERP systems. May be required to do cycle counts and inventory verification Maintain safety standards and keep the work area clean and orderly.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required 0-1 year related experience Stand-up or sit-down forklift driving skills required Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs Must be able to follow directions Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) Proficient computer and data entry skills Has willingness to learn, takes initiative, and offers improvement ideas Able to work effectively in a team environment Excellent punctuality, good attendance, and reliability required Adherence to health and safety regulations Able to work overtime and weekends as needed Physical Demands Work is performed in a warehouse environment with moving PITs. Required to stand, walk, sit and use stair ladders; talk and hear in person; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
