Job Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Material Handler for a contract opportunity in Waddell, AZ.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Material Handler is responsible for ensuring that product is moved within our warehouse in a safe and efficient manner utilizing approved equipment. You are also responsible for proper inventory being maintained, and good housekeeping and warehouse standards being upheld.- Change in the intermodal loading process for JB Hunt, No forklift driving, moving pallets in a trailer with a pallet jack and placing airbags in the gap that is created.
- Safely operate a pallet jack to move pallets throughout designated work area and perform related tasks to assigned area
- Operate, changeover, clean, troubleshoot, and complete basic maintenance on palletizing equipment
- Ensure effective and safe use of warehouse equipment.
- Perform safety inspections and audits as required
- Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures
- Use scanning equipment to ensure accurate tracking of inventory within the facility
- Follow standard work policies and procedures
- Work as a team with forklift drivers to ensure production flow and improve operations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
(DESIREDSKILLS/EXPERIENCE
):- Experience working in a warehouse environment a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to regularly lift, move, and place up to 50 pounds of inventory as needed.
- Safety sensitive role, will be required to use a pallet jack on occasion. They will be surrounded by equipment and be in close proximity to robot forklifts, so situational awareness is key based on a heightened danger in their work environment.
- MUST work safe around LGV's, will be safety trained on LGV's to work around them.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
- Accredited High School Diploma or
GED. WORK HOURS
- Full-Time-front half, nights- Week 1: M-W, 5pm-5am Week 2: M-T, 5pm-5am Expected Number of Hours Worked Per Week - 36, 48 alternating weeks; 12 hour shifts
