Fontana, CA Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Cherry Picker Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating cherry pickers and other material handling equipment to efficiently pick, load, and unload inventory within a fast-paced distribution environment. Your expertise in warehouse management systems, safety protocols, and equipment operation will ensure smooth warehouse operations and accurate inventory control. Duties Operate cherry pickers, reach trucks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to pick orders from elevated storage locations. Load and unload shipments using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks, clamp trucks, and Hi-Lo forklifts while adhering to OSHA safety standards. Conduct routine inspections and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Manage inventory through barcode scanning, warehouse management systems, and manual counts to maintain accurate stock levels. Assist with shipping and receiving processes by preparing orders for dispatch, verifying shipment accuracy, and documenting movement using barcode scanners. Follow warehouse safety protocols during manual handling of materials, heavy lifting, and equipment operation to prevent accidents or injuries. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage layouts, improve workflow efficiency, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the warehouse environment to promote safety and operational efficiency. Experience Proven experience operating cherry pickers, reach trucks, forklifts (including lift trucks), clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and Hi-Lo equipment in a warehouse setting. Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management practices, and logistics procedures. Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to forklift safety protocols and heavy equipment operation. Experience in shipping & receiving processes including order picking, load & unload activities, and barcode scanning for logistics. Familiarity with materials handling techniques such as manual handling and heavy lifting in accordance with safety standards. Previous experience in warehouse supervision or management is advantageous but not mandatory. Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and documentation accuracy. Ability to perform basic equipment repairs or troubleshooting as needed. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining high safety standards in production environments.
