Class A Driver (Port and Customer Deliveries)

Warehouse Manager Position Summary:

Lux Flooring Inc. is seeking a reliable and experienced Class A Driver. This Class A Driver will be responsible for transporting containers to and from the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. The ideal candidate must have a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), a valid TWIC card, and a clean driving record. This position requires the ability to lift heavy objects, work in various weather conditions, and follow all safety regulations. As needed, drivers will also make customer deliveries. Business needs may include General Warehouse work.

Key Responsibilities:

Transport Containers:

Safely transport materials to and from the ports of Los Angeles & Long Beach, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, traffic laws, and company policies.

Paperwork Management:

Accurately fill out all required paperwork, including pre and post trip inspection daily trip reports.

Safety Compliance:

Operate vehicles in accordance with Lux Flooring Inc. safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, DOT, and all local, state, and federal laws.

Vehicle Inspections:

Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles and document findings using the standard Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).

Safety Reporting:

Immediately report any unsafe situations or service-related issues to the Operations Supervisor and/or Dispatch.

Training and Meetings:

Attend and participate in scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required.

Incident Reporting:

Notify Warehouse Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.

Service Interruptions:

Communicate with Operations Supervisor/Dispatch regarding any service interruptions, including blocked containers, closed lots, streets, alleyways, or other hazards.

Warehouse Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

Assist in receiving, unloading, and storing incoming inventory.

Order Fulfillment:

Accurately pick and pack orders for shipment.

Warehouse Organization:

Maintain a clean, organized workspace to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Shipping and Receiving:

Process incoming and outgoing shipments, including loading and unloading using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manually.

Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

Valid CDL (Class A): Must hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.

TWIC Card:

Must have a valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card.

Clean MVR :

Must have a clean motor vehicle record with no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift heavy objects and work in all weather conditions.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Class A driver, especially with port operations, preferred.

Compliance Knowledge:

Familiarity with

OSHA, DOT

regulations, and port-related safety requirements.

Communication Skills:

Strong communication skills for collaborating with dispatch, operations supervisors, and customers.

Knowledge/Critical Skills:

Experience with 20' to 40 '

Trailer Navigation Skills:

Ability to read and understand a map/GPS for route planning.

Age Requirement:

Must be 21 years of age or older.

Physical Ability:

Must pass a pre-employment physical exam and DOT drug screening and background check.

Containerized Cargo:

Experience with containerized cargo preferred. Forklift and Electric Pallet Jack experience.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Frequently required to stand, walk, and lift/move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. General warehouse duties such as palletizing materials, picking and packing, forklift operations. Daily travel is required, as the position involves transporting goods between various locations.
