Full Job Description Title:
Receiving Warehouse Attendant Job Summary:
The Receiving/Warehouse Attendant is responsible for the physical receipt, storage, and distribution of warehouse materials.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Duties/Responsibilities:
Read and interpret bills of lading and purchase orders. Unload trucks as needed. Operation of computer programs to generate receiving tickets, and post receipt of requisitioned goods. Deliver received goods to destination within plant. Delivery of customer returns to responsible Departments. In general, maintain clean, neat, and orderly organization of Warehouse. Must be able to drive forklift - will train.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Know and follow handling procedures for precious metals and potentially hazardous/contaminated goods. Coordinate recycled materials with Inv. Control attendant. Assist with "cycle count" of specific Warehouse items with Inv. Control Attendant. Deliver "packing slips" to H.R. Determine need for specific warehouse supplies and reorder as needed. Assist shipping with packaging support.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Warehouse / Inventory Control experience a plus. Ability to read and interpret bills of lading and purchase orders. Operate forklift and pallet jack safely. Some knowledge of manufacturing computer operations. Excel and Word experience preferred.
Experience & Education Requirements:
High school Diploma, GED required The receiving/warehouse attendant will be trained on the proper use of a forklift and pallet jack. Once training is completed, a license for both the forklift and pallet jack will be issued.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
